Sweet Woodruff May Wine

This beautiful ground cover loves shady spots. Its distinctive aroma and flavor dosen’t appear until the plant is dried. Traditional May Wine: Add 12 dried stems to 1 bottle of light white wine. Recork bottle and let sit overnight. Refrigerate. Strain out woodruff and serve.

Spruce Tip Lemonade

Rich in vitamin C, the spring growth of the spruce tree is a delightful flavoring for sorbets and drinks. Add 6 sprigs of spruce to 2 cups of boiling water. Steep over low heat 45 minutes. Strain and add juice of 3 lemons, ½ cup sugar, and 1 quart of water. Chill and serve.
